One in three young people in America is a victim of physical, sexual, emotional, or verbal abuse from a dating partner. Media Enterprise Alliance (MEA) at KDOL-TV production students created a short film to show young people how to break the cycle.

The students in the media program are from Life Academy, Oakland Tech, Oakland High and Coliseum College Prep Academy. They team with the CHAMPS (Community Health & Adolescent Mentoring Program for Success) program at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland to create some eye-opening PSA (public service announcement) videos that target important health issues for teens. The students learn their video production and story-telling skills through MEA at KDOL TV.

Other videos produced by students include – “Dating Matters”, “Breathmobile” and “Don’t Send Nudes”.
