At KDOL TV, Oakland students learn media, then make and edit their own videos and films. These first year students in the Media Enterprise Alliance classes may be beginners, but they’re already looking like pros!!

Watch their work because we think you’ll agree!

First up, a personal piece, titled – “Survivors”:

“We were inspired by our own experiences and we really just wanted to shed a light on a few subjects we feel need to be discussed more often. Due to the idea that such topics are innapropriate or “taboo”, no one really feels comfortable telling their story. Hopefully our film can be a big conversation starter and also touch the hearts of the ones who need the reminder that they are not alone.” Terri

And here’s “Shutter”:

“Shutter was a spur of the moment idea that I came up with while looking at the photos I had taped to my wall. It was an amazing experience for us to film on location and use the knowledge we learned through our class. Having this opportunity opened our eyes to the film making process and was a great collaborative project.” Sarah
