June 4th, 2015

They’re holding their Honorable Mention certificates from the 2015 White House Student Film Festival! That’s quite an honor considering their film, “We Will Persist” was picked from more than 1,500 student entries from across the country! Though their film didn’t make the final 16, we’re proud of Ruby and Danielle who are students with Media Enterprise Alliance at KDOL-TV. They’re true winners with us!!

Ruby Rosenberg/Oakland Tech:

“It’s rewarding to be honored by the White House. It shows that we really do have talent in what we’re learning at KDOL-TV and video journalism is what I want to pursue later in life. People really think it’s a great video and I’m proud of that. Receiving an Honorable Mention for ‘We Will Persist’ further convinces me that I’m making the right choice about going into this field, and that I have a long future ahead of me.”

Danielle Thompson/MetWest:

“I’m so excited to have our film recognized by the White House. I love that one of my more important pieces is the one to receive an Honorable Mention. Things like this inspire and motivate me to continue making videos.”

Here is their thought-provoking film – “We Will Persist”.
